A Career Built on Meaningful Work

Lisa’s clinical background spans a wide range of settings that have shaped her into a thoughtful, experienced, and versatile therapist.

Early in her career, she worked in the Burn Center and Spinal Cord Injury Unit at Detroit Receiving Hospital — an experience that gave her a profound understanding of trauma, resilience, and the emotional dimensions of serious physical illness. She went on to serve as a therapist at The Children’s Home of Detroit, a residential treatment facility for children and teens with significant emotional challenges, and later in outpatient settings at Eastwood Clinic and Davis Counseling Center in Farmington Hills.

During her time at Davis Counseling Center, Lisa also authored a monthly advice column for the Observer and Eccentric Newspaper, bringing mental health guidance to the broader Metro Detroit community.

For more than 25 years, she has maintained a private practice in West Bloomfield, Michigan, where she continues to work with individuals, couples, and families from across the Metro Detroit area.

Education and Professional Credentials

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and holds advanced credentials through the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW).

These credentials reflect not only her academic training but her ongoing commitment to ethical, evidence-informed practice in the field of mental health.

A Compassionate, Personalized Approach to Therapy

What sets Lisa apart is the environment she creates. Clients consistently describe her as warm, easy to talk to, and genuinely invested in their progress. She draws on a variety of therapeutic modalities — adapting her approach to what works best for each person — to maximize the opportunity for meaningful, lasting change.
